Overview

A one day Kampala city tour isideal for winding up a long safari or starting with it . This
tour is an evenly mixed historical, cultural, political and religious history. You will visit
the Kabaka's Palace. The Buganda kingdom has been strong since time immemorial as it
was considered a protectorate instead of a colony during the colonial times. On the
religious side, the Uganda Martyrs who died by the order of Kabaka Mwanga II. These
Martyrs were commemorated by naming them after churches and cathedrals. These
cathedrals are worth visiting because they are rich with the religious history of Uganda.
All Kampala attractions, facilities and enterprises are evenly distributed on 7hills that
include Kasubi hill, Nakasero hill, Makerere hill, Namirembe hill, Rubaga hill, Kibuli
hill, Mengo hill, Mulago hill, Kololo hill, Nsambya hill among others. A one day Kampala
city tour will also take you to the serene Baha’i temple, the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine,
Ndere Cultural center, Gadaffi National Mosque, the Kasubi tombs among others.

Itenary

Our day begins early in the morning with our first stop at the Lubiri (Kabaka's palace),
for the rich Buganda administrative center and parliament. Proceed to Namirembe hill
with a panoramic view of the city predominated by St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe,
schools, hospitals, and Centre for Anglicans’ that is church of Uganda.
Then stretch to newly renovated Gadhafi National Mosque, the biggest in Uganda. It has
an eye tower enabling you to access the Seven hills of Kampala at a glance down is
Captain Fredric Lugard’s monument shooting you down town “congested” city with
motor cycles (boda boda), taxi, and crowds of people to and from the city center.
Then stretch to Kasubi Hill for the great world heritage site recognized by UNESCO the
wonderous Kasubi Royal Tombs with updated on-site guides, folklores and pregnant
history. This is where four of the Buganda kings’ remains are kept. It is the burial
ground for the Royal family. On the 28th of February 2025, a prince known as
Omulangira Goloba was buried here.
Have lunch at a restaurant nearby and continue to the beautiful Baha’i temple along the
Northern By Pass to Baha’i road around Kisasi. It has a cool eco environment coupled
with bird watching and the unique nature of the Baha’i faith.
The Ndere cultural center awaits next with more than 30 Ugandan culture presentations
from which we switch to the memorable only of its kind in Uganda.

Continue to Mandela National Stadium obtaining its name in honor of foreign Pan
African hero the first Black South African President Sir Nelson Mandela.
Wind up the long day with a drive to the historical Martyrs shrine (Catholic and
Anglican) built in commemoration of the 25 Uganda Martyrs that were murdered by
Kabaka Mwanga of Buganda Kingdom.
