You will be collected from the airport by our representative and immediately set of for Bwindi National Park (that is, if you make it around 9am to Entebbe International Airport) or accommodation can be arranged for you at an extra cost.

DAY 1

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary En route.

You will be picked up from your place of stay in Kampala after breakfast at around 7.00 a.m. to embark on a 311km (5-6 hours) drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park.

We will drive through the former battle zone of the Luwero Triangle, passing through the impressive rural landscapes of Uganda with lush green cover, scattered human settlements, towns, and markets where you will see people going on with their daily lives, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the home of Uganda’s only wild rhinos.

Here you get the opportunity to track wild white rhinos on foot and you will get to appreciate what a 2-ton animal really looks like while your adrenaline is pumping.

Rhinos are part of the Big Five of land animals and exploring them on foot is indeed an unforgettable wild wildlife-watching encounter. After this 2-hours rhino tracking encounter, we will continue on the drive to Murchison, arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2

Do a Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Launch Cruise to the Bottom of Murchison Falls.

After breakfast at around 6.30 am, we transfer to Murchison Falls National Park’s northern bank for a 3-4 hours game drive in search of the ‘Big Five’ (Buffaloes, Lions, Elephants, and possibly Leopards).

Other amazing animals of Uganda to look for include Rothschild’s giraffe, Uganda Kob, Patas monkeys, Olive baboons, Defassa waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Bohor reedbucks, Oribis, Warthogs, Spotted hyenas, Hippos, Bushbucks plus much more as the list of mammals reaches 76 species. Other activities in this game drive include bird watching and sightseeing across the open savannah, dotted with Borassus palms.

Murchison Falls is a wonderful birding destination and the star attractions among the 451-plus Uganda bird species recorded here are the pre-historic shoebills, Grey Crowned Cranes, Goliath Heron, Denham’s Bustard, Abyssinian Ground-Hornbill, Black-billed Barbet, Black-headed Gonolek, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Piapiac, Silverbird, and others.

After the game drive, we will connect to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon we will transfer to Paraa Jetty to embark on the afternoon Nile launch cruise to the bottom of the falls departing at 2 p.m.

This stunning boat ride on the World’s longest river – The River Nile to the bottom of the Murchison Falls offers a great opportunity to see a variety of amazing wildlife from the peaceful sailing boat.

You will have a chance to see giant Nile crocodiles in one of the largest concentrations, Hippos in great herds, Shoebills, Cormorants, and Kingfishers, large flocks of African skimmers, groups of elephants showering on the river bank, Defassa waterbucks, and African buffaloes.

Retreat from the 2-hour activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3

Visit the Top of the Fall/Optional Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest and Transfer Back to Kampala.

After breakfast at around 7.00 am, we will cross with the ferry to the southern section of the park after which you’ll connect to the top of the falls viewpoint.

Murchison Falls is an impressive sight from the boat, but for sheer sensory overload, we take a short footpath that leads downhill to the waterfall’s head and a fenced viewpoint from where you truly appreciate the staggering power with which the 50 meters Nile explodes through the 7-meter wide gap in the rift valley escarpment and plunge 45 meters down, not to mention the deafening roar and voluminous spray it generates.

The Murchison Falls is one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls, worth adventuring in Uganda.

You will also have an option of Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest during which you will have a chance to watch our closest living relatives close up and in their magisterial natural surroundings. After this exciting adventure, we will drive back to Kampala City with the views of River Kafu en route.
